CREATIVE BUILD 501(c) 3 is a California nonprofit corporation formed with the mission to bring innovation and evidence supported programs and practices to communities in order to improve the lives of individuals, families, and neighborhoods. We do this by building collective efficacy, fostering cross sector collaboration, and providing organizational development skills with an expertise in program evaluation, capacity building, and community based participatory research.  Creative Build Inc. has offices in Los Angeles County and in Oakland, California.

Our vision is a world where all people have the opportunity to participate in a society free of violence, injustice, discrimination, and poverty.  Our model of transformative change includes engagement of disenfranchised youth using the arts (fine arts, media arts, performing arts, narrative arts, arts and entertainment) and integrating life skills, mentoring, leadership training, and connections to opportunities for economic and educational advancement.

Strategy:  Utilizing a framework of Targeted Universalism,* we promote a range of integrated strategies for investing in building the capacity of communities to reach their goals. Utilizing a framework of Results Based Accountability, ** we promote a data driven decision making process to produce measurable change in people’s lives. Utilizing a public health approach which incorporates public safety, we promote the use of Violence Prevention Strategies and Frameworks developed by researchers at the National Prevention Science Coalition to Improve Lives and by the Growth Lab at Harvard University.***
